Our Origins

In 2018, we began offering masonry staining services in response to consistent requests from local brickyards. This service expansion was a natural extension of our extensive experience in masonry restoration and historic preservation projects.

Through years of restoration work, our team identified a recurring challenge: finding replacement bricks that matched original materials in size, texture, and color. While sourcing bricks with correct dimensions and textures was often possible, color matching remained problematic, especially when original bricks had been discontinued or mis-tinted.

Masonry staining became the missing link to providing high-quality repairs, allowing our team to tint replacement bricks to match original materials, creating seamless restorations even when dealing with discontinued products.

Our Commitment to Quality

After evaluating various products available on the market, we partnered with Masonry Cosmetics, determining they offered the best solution for permanent, breathable staining. We are the only Masonry Cosmetics certified company in Iowa, a distinction that underscores our exceptional expertise.

We prioritized finding a staining solution that wouldn't be "paint-like" and would maintain the masonry's natural breathability—preventing damage to original materials and eliminating long-term maintenance concerns for building owners.

Key Players

Our masonry staining  operations are led by Josh Smyser and Jason Burg. Between the two of them they bring over 50 years of combined experience in brick and mortar matching which makes their eye for color in matching masonry materials and staining top notch!

Their attention to detail is unmatched - they can identify subtle color variations that others might miss and create custom solutions that seamlessly blend new and existing masonry. Their comprehensive understanding of historical masonry materials and current product options allows them to select the most appropriate solutions for each client's unique needs.
