Thru-Wall Flashing
The purpose of thru-wall (or through-wall) flashing is to give a path for moisture that has entered through the masonry wall-system to exit the masonry wall assembly. Through-wall flashing is typically installed at the base of the wall, window heads, relieving angles and above roofing terminations. Through proper thru-wall flashing installation, we divert water infiltration back out of the wall cavity and prevent moisture infiltration inside your building.
Thru-wall flashing should be performed by skilled, experienced and knowledgeable contractors, such as TNT Tuckpointing and Building Restoration, because of the process and level of detail required for a proper installation. Thru-wall flashing is performed following the project architect or engineers details, most commonly using stainless steel drip edges, flexible stainless steel or rubberized asphalt, and termination bars attached to the backup wall.
No matter the difficulty of your application, whether it’s step-flashing, inside/outside corners, or copper flashing requiring sauntering, we are able to perform the work with great workmanship.
Do you have a restoration project requiring thru-wall flashing, or do you have water seeping in to your existing brick, stone or block building damaging your interior finishes? Thru-wall flashing installation maybe what you need. Call us today at 563-785-0120 to learn more about how we can help!
